Koje Island POW Camp, 1953: The photos

This is a large set of slides mainly taken on Koje (Geoje) Island, Korea. There were large POW camps there, that were the site of constant agitation and fighting by the North Korean and Chinese prisoners. Pfc Grovom belonged the 556 Heavy Truck company stationed there. His notes on the slides indicate that the prisoners seen here were "Anti-Red" prisoners, who were actively resisting being repatriated to NK and Red China.
Notes on the slide boxes give the location of some of the other photos as Masan, and Chinhae, Korea.
Mr Grovom died Oct 15, 2011.

korea 1977 This is a group of slides taken in Korea during July and August of 1977. I know nothing else about them-there were no notes on the slides. They came from ebay, and the seller knew nothing about them, either. I think many of them might have been taken in the Busan area.
